Registered Massage Therapy

Aaron Chew is offering:

Massage therapy is a therapeutic clinical practice that involves the assessment and treatment of the body’s joints and soft tissues in order to increase function, rehabilitate injuries, and decrease acute or chronic pain.

After getting to know the patient and learning about their unique needs via a thorough medical history, massage therapists assess the body using observation, palpation, and special orthopedic and neurological tests, if indicated.

Once the assessment is complete and a treatment plan is formulated, methods and techniques available to help treat soft tissues include general relaxation massage, deep tissue massage, acupressure, shiatsu, reflexology, active and passive stretching, fascial and trigger point therapy, joint mobilizations, and instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation (IASTM) such as gua sha and Graston. Additionally, massage therapy can help alleviate stress levels, induce relaxation, and improve the body’s ability to heal itself by regulating the central nervous system. Massage therapists also prescribe home care such as stretches and strength training exercises, whilst also educating patients on lifestyle changes that can help optimize recovery.

Extended benefits CAN be used for registered massage therapy.
